Why do servo manufacturers choose absolute encoders? We know that the encoder is one of the most important structures of the servo system, and it is also the first element that distinguishes it from ordinary motors. Through the encoder structure, we can feedback the motion state of the motor, and gradually reduce the motion error of the motor through the PID algorithm until there is no error.

Common servo encoders include incremental encoders and absolute encoders. At present, most servos on the market use absolute encoders, why?

In case of power failure, the incremental encoder needs to reset the initial position, which is cumbersome, but the absolute encoder will not, and it will be where it is after power failure.

Moreover, the accuracy of absolute encoders is getting higher and higher, and tens of thousands of pulse signals may be sent after one revolution of the motor, such as a 23-bit multi-turn absolute encoder.
